Understanding Loti’s Claims Process: Your Path to Recovery

Every claim is different, but this provides a quick overview of how our process works and how we help you recover with confidence.

Every insurance claim is different. The type of damage, your policy, your carrier, your documentation, and the stage of recovery all affect what happens next. Loti’s process is designed to bring structure, clarity, and expert support to a stressful situation so you can move from damage to recovery with confidence.

Our team combines licensed public adjuster expertise, organized documentation workflows, homeowner education, and technology tools that help turn scattered claim information into a clear, professional claim package.

Step 1: Consultation and Claim Assessment

Your journey with Loti begins with an initial consultation. During this conversation, we learn more about what happened, where you are in the claim process, and what kind of support you need.

We may discuss:

  • The date, type, and cause of the loss
  • The areas of your home or property that were damaged
  • Whether you have already contacted your insurance company
  • Any inspections, estimates, payments, or communications you have received
  • Your immediate needs, such as temporary housing, emergency repairs, or documentation help
  • Your insurance policy, coverage questions, and possible next steps

This helps us understand the scope of your situation and determine whether Loti’s services are a good fit. From there, we can outline a recovery plan based on your claim, your property, and your goals.

Step 2: Policy Review and Strategy

Before a claim can be properly organized, it is important to understand the policy behind it. Loti reviews the relevant portions of your homeowners insurance policy so we can identify the coverages, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and requirements that may apply.

This may include:

  • Dwelling coverage
  • Other structures coverage
  • Personal property coverage
  • Loss of Use or Additional Living Expense coverage
  • Debris removal
  • Code upgrades or ordinance and law coverage
  • Special limits or exclusions
  • Deadlines, duties after loss, and documentation requirements

This policy review helps shape the claim strategy. It also helps set expectations around what may be covered, what may require additional documentation, and where there may be questions to resolve with the insurance carrier.

Step 3: Document Collection and Organization

Documentation is the foundation of a strong insurance claim. One of Loti’s core workflows is helping homeowners gather, organize, and present claim information in a way that is clear, complete, and easy to review.

Depending on the claim, documentation may include:

  • Photos and videos of the damage
  • Inspection reports
  • Contractor estimates
  • Repair invoices
  • Receipts
  • Temporary housing costs
  • Meal, utility, storage, laundry, and transportation expenses
  • Personal property inventories
  • Proof of ownership
  • Prior communications with the insurance company
  • Carrier estimates, letters, and payment summaries

Loti organizes information into structured claim categories, such as:

  • Insurance: policy documents, carrier correspondence, estimates, payments, and claim forms
  • Construction: damage photos, scopes of work, contractor bids, invoices, permits, and repair records
  • Personal Property: damaged, destroyed, or lost belongings, replacement research, receipts, and inventories
  • Loss of Use: temporary housing, increased food costs, utilities, storage, transportation, and other additional living expenses

Our technology and workflows are built to reduce the chaos of claim documentation. Instead of having important information scattered across emails, texts, folders, photos, and receipts, Loti helps organize it into a more usable claim record.

Step 4: Damage Evaluation and Scope Development

Once documentation is gathered, Loti helps evaluate the full scope of damage. This step is about making sure the claim reflects the actual impact of the loss, not just the most obvious damage.

Our team may review:

  • Visible damage to the home
  • Hidden or related damage
  • Emergency mitigation work
  • Construction estimates and scopes
  • Personal property losses
  • Temporary housing and other Loss of Use expenses
  • Prior carrier estimates or settlement offers
  • Areas where additional expert input may be needed

When appropriate, Loti’s licensed public adjusters, known as RallyPros, help assess and organize the claim from the policyholder’s perspective. RallyPros work on behalf of the homeowner, not the insurance company, to help document and present the claim clearly and professionally.

If team members are still in training, they may support the process as Apprentices under appropriate supervision while working toward becoming licensed RallyPros.

Step 5: Claim Package Preparation

After the documentation and damage evaluation are organized, Loti helps prepare a professional claim package for submission to the insurance carrier.

A claim package may include:

  • A summary of the loss
  • Photos and supporting documentation
  • Construction estimates or repair scopes
  • Personal property inventories
  • Loss of Use expense summaries
  • Receipts, invoices, and proof of costs
  • Explanations of requested amounts
  • Relevant policy references
  • Open questions or items requiring carrier review

The goal is to make the claim easier for the insurance carrier to understand, evaluate, and respond to. A well-organized submission can help reduce confusion, limit back-and-forth, and support a more efficient claim review.

Step 6: Carrier Communication and Negotiation

Once the claim has been submitted, Loti helps manage the communication process with the insurance company. This can be one of the most stressful parts of a claim, especially when there are questions, delays, inspections, revisions, or disagreements about scope and value.

Loti may help:

  • Respond to carrier questions
  • Organize additional documentation requests
  • Review carrier estimates and payments
  • Identify missing or underpaid items
  • Prepare supplemental claim information
  • Communicate with adjusters and other claim representatives
  • Advocate for a fair and well-supported settlement

Our RallyPros use their adjusting experience to help homeowners navigate the claim process more effectively. The focus is not just on submitting information, but on making sure the claim is properly understood and evaluated.

Step 7: Settlement Review and Recovery Planning

When the insurance company issues a payment or settlement decision, Loti helps review the outcome against the policy, the documented damage, and the submitted claim materials.

This may include reviewing:

  • What was paid
  • What was denied or excluded
  • Whether depreciation was applied
  • Whether recoverable depreciation may be available later
  • Whether additional documentation is needed
  • Whether supplemental amounts should be requested
  • How the settlement aligns with repair or rebuild costs

From there, Loti can help you understand next steps, including repairs, replacement of personal property, Loss of Use reimbursement, contractor coordination, and additional claim follow-up.

Step 8: Rebuild, Repair, and Ongoing Support

The claim process does not always end when the first payment arrives. Many homeowners still need to manage repairs, submit invoices, recover depreciation, replace belongings, track expenses, and respond to additional insurance questions.

Loti supports homeowners through the broader recovery process by helping keep documentation organized and connecting claim activity to real-world next steps.

This may include:

  • Tracking repair estimates and invoices
  • Organizing contractor documentation
  • Supporting personal property replacement records
  • Managing Loss of Use expenses
  • Helping prepare supplemental claim submissions
  • Reviewing carrier responses
  • Keeping claim information accessible and structured

Our goal is to help you move forward with less confusion and more confidence.
